Cseking In with Anita Parker of Wine, Women & Well-Being

In this episode of Cseking In, Nikki Csek recently sat down with Anita Parker of Wine, Women & Well-Being.

The duo discussed Parker’s journey from Ontario to British Columbia and how she found herself in various roles after spending nearly three decades as a dental hygienist.

With a strong passion for acting, singing and dancing, Parker had a full scholarship to a performing arts school in Toronto.

But searching for certainty in her life, Parker chose to enter the field of dentistry and become a dental hygienist, a field she worked in for 26 years.

In the 2010s, Parker began feeling an urge to “be of service” to people, but after a discussion with her family, it was decided that the timing was not right to make a career change.

After meeting her husband in 2017, a chef in Fort McMurray, Parker realized the platform the restaurant could serve to help the community, marking the realization she wanted to step away from her career.

“I've always loved certainty, and I think I was so tired of living in it because I had a lot of uncertainty as a child and, so I replaced it quickly with certainty for a long time and at that point, I was 45 and I was tired of just being in the same spot so I jumped off the cliff,” explained Parker.

In 2020, Parker made the switch from dentistry and started a multi-level online network marketing business, replacing her income as a hygienist in 10 months.

Flash forward to 2022, and Parker found her way back to performing, but in a different form.

“What I do now, through my speaking, my coaching, the philanthropy, I have turned the passion of performance into purpose and that is what I'm up to,” she explained.

After attending an event in Kelowna, Parker learned about Wine, Women & Well-Being and expanded the brand to Fort McMurray.

“I wanted to create that space to really showcase them (women in Fort McMurray) and what they are up to in the community,” explained Parker.

Eventually, Parker earned the opportunity to take over the Kelowna branch and she currently runs events in both cities for the brand.

“I am 100% here to empower human beings, and this has just been a vehicle that I've been driving to start laying all the groundwork, and so now I'm just switching into another model of a car … (the) best is yet to come,” she hinted.
