Arkells to headline new music festival coming to Big White

One of Canada’s most popular bands will be hitting the slopes to perform at Big White this coming spring.

The ski hill has announced Arkells will headline the inaugural Altitunes music festival on April 4, 2019, along with Vancouver duo Dear Rouge.

The one-day festival will include an all-day array of live music and activities at different locations on the ski hill, with the event culminating at the festival's mainstage with performances by the headlining acts.

Altitunes is produced by the same promotional company behind popular Kelowna festival Denim on the Diamond and promises to be an equally all-inclusive event for families, music fans and of course, skiers and snowboarders.

“We are excited to bring some of Canada’s top artists to Big White and to curate a diverse artist line-up that is authentic to the mountain lifestyle at Big White; modern rock, alternative, indie music artists as well as DJ sets at different locations on the ski-hill throughout the early afternoon leading up to our event,” said Mitch Carefoot, co-owner of Thick as Thieves Entertainment.

Tickets to the all-ages event are $59 for early bird general admission and $119 or early bird VIP, with kids pricing ranges from $10 (12 and under) to $39 (13-18).

“We are always looking for new ways to provide value and experiences to our current guests at Big White, and new ways to attract non-skiers, a younger demographic and increase visits to the Okanagan by providing first class entertainment value at Big White Ski Resort.” - Michael J. Ballingall, Senior Vice President Big White Ski Resort Ltd.
