Big Brother Canada rolls on, lone BC houseguest in solid position after 4th week

Big Brother Canada continues to keep it going as the houseguests have now spent over four weeks playing the game.

After a pair of BC residents went home in the show's first two weeks, it looks as though the province's final representative won't be heading anywhere anytime soon. Kiefer won last week's Head of Household competition, ensuring his safety for the week.

Kiefer's win spelt trouble for the likes of Kyle, Rohan, Austin, Breydon and Victoria who had gone against his alliance the previous week. Kyle and Rohan were thrown on the block to be evicted unless one of them could win the Power of Veto.

Kyle and Rohan were dealt a stingy hand during the draw for players for the POV comp. Both Jedson and Beth, who were a part of Kiefer's alliance, were picked to play along with Austin.

During the competition, which saw the players dressed as mice blowing balls from one end of the desert to the other, Rohan outdueled Jedson to get himself off the block.

Looking to make sure Kyle went home, Kiefer weighed out his options for a replacement. Rohan, Austin, Breydon and Kyle wanted the HOH to put Victoria on the block while the other side thought Austin was the smarter play.

Despite promising to keep each other off the block during the HOH comp, Kiefer opted to replace Rohan with Austin. He made this decision after Kyle and Austin began to show signs of a budding showmance.

Austin being on the block all but sealed Kyle's fate. He hardly campaigned for his safety with his biggest pitch being that he would take Kiefer out for those who didn't have that option.

On eviction night, there were some tears, though Kyle was eventually sent out the door by a 7-1 vote. His only vote to stay was from his "Showtime" partner Rohan.

Following the eviction came an "invisible HOH" where the houseguests had to count rocks that fell into a pool. This meant whoever won would be kept a secret and could put up two nominees without getting blood on their hands.

Victoria, who is proving to be quite the comp beast, took home the win after beating Tera in a tie-breaker. Rather than taking a massive swing and targeting the likes of Kiefer, Jedson or Tychon, Vic opted to put Austin and Breydon on the block.

In order to keep her power a secret, Victoria put herself on slop for the second week in a row.

Vic has been unable to contain her excitement at times, leading some to think it is her. Up next, an invisible POV competition where the nominees can attempt to save each other or keep the nominations the same.

Shown below is where I believe some of the houseguests stand inside the BBC house:

Running the Game:

Tychon/Jedson: Ty and Jed are probably in the best position in this house. They are smart, competitive, and physical. It's not often the two biggest guys in the house don't touch the block by week five, but these guys might never touch it. At this point, Vic, Beth, Kiefer and practically everyone else is just battling to be their number three.

Kiefer: Despite breaking promises, getting caught in lies and not having a true number two, Kiefer has not been expendable. His alliances always want to keep him around and he has strong ties to both Jed and Ty as well as Tina and Tera. If Rohan or Breydon win the next HOH, he could have issues, but until then, BC's lone soldier is sitting pretty.

Tina/Tera: Tina and Tera aren't playing the most fun game in the world, but they are making it far. There are still two sides to this game and the Ts sit directly in the middle. If they get too comfortable, they'll be picked off, but for now, everyone still comes to them because they need their votes.

Fan Favourites:

Austin: Everyone loves Austin. She is competitive, funny, smart and everything in between. She tells it how it is, was almost in a showmance and has Twitter rattled with her possible eviction. She needs a lot to go right for her to stay, but fans will be pissed if she is the fifth one gone.

Tychon: Of the Jedson, Ty, Beth love triangle, which has not been targeted once in the game, Tychon has gotten the most love. His social game is one of the best in the house and nobody can get over his charm. Ty shouldn't touch the block in the next week or two, leaving the fans very happy.

Victoria: At the start of the season, Victoria was easily everyone's favourite. Now, not so much... She is still someone everyone enjoys watching, though some are calling her a "pick me girl" because her whole game seems to be centred around playing behind Jedson and Ty. Expect her to get wise to those two and once again be everyone's number one.

In Trouble:

Austin: The queen of BBCAN 9 has a very real shot of going home this week. If she stays on the block against Breydon, the competition wins won't allow her to stay over him. She needs a saviour, but only time will tell if that could happen.

Breydon: Though he won't leave this week, losing Austin would cripple Breydon's game. He hasn't shown an ability to win competitions and his connections are much weaker without his go-to girl. Breydon could stick around as a potential late ally for some looking for recruits, but he'd be at the bottom of most pyramids.

Rohan: Ro thinks he's in good standings with the likes of Ty, Jed and others, but he is at the bottom. He's currently willing to do what they say but doesn't realize he's once again at the bottom of the totem pole. Ro thinks a lot and it could be his undoing in the near future.

Thoughts from John Luke:

The wild start to the season has since cooled down and the large alliance is looking good. That is unfortunate because the first few weeks were so fun. This invisible HOH twist had the chance to be one of the coolest things BBC has ever seen, instead, we got a pretty weak move. The whole house wants into a group that is only loyal to each other and that is going to make it easy for Kiefer, Beth, Jed and Ty to run away with it. We might already know the final four and we're only five weeks in. I hope the next couple of weeks are a little better than these last two.

These opinions are just based on the 12 aired episodes. Those looking for up-to-date information are encouraged to check out the BBC live feeds.
