The Okanagan film industry will be celebrated at the in downtown Kelowna today.
Organized by the Okanagan Society of Independent Filmmaking (OSIF), the Okanagan Screen Awards (OSA) is a full-day event that will be held at the Kelowna Community Theatre.

It will be a day of celebration for the region’s vibrant creative community, but organizers stress that it’s more than just a film festival.
They say it’s a platform that spans across various genres, showcasing everything from short films and documentaries to commercials, music videos, wedding videos and fashion.
The night is touted as a unique opportunity for like-minded creatives to network and collaborate, fostering the spirit of community in the Okanagan.
“The OSA is not just an event; it’s a celebration of the incredible talent that thrives in our region,” said Chelsea McEvoy, president of OSIF. “It’s a testament to the passion and creativity of our local filmmakers and artists.”

The full-day film festival will consist of local film and video screenings, which includes a special ‘Best of Canada’ short film block to showcase the nation’s cinematic prowess.
The event begins at 10 am and goes all the way until 9 pm, wrapping up with the evening awards show that will acknowledge and celebrate contributions to the local film industry.
Once things end at the KCT, the festivities will continue with an after party a few blocks away at Pretty Not Bad.
