Beloved actor Ian Holm has died at the age of 88.
A Shakespearean performer, Holm became world-famous for his roles in the likes of Alien, The Fifth Element and The Lord of the Rings.
He also received wide praise for his performance in Chariots of Fire.

His agent explained that Holm died “peacefully” this morning in hospital.
He had Parkinson’s disease.
Holm’s friends and admirers in the film industry have already begun praising his talent on social media.
Actor Samuel West said Holm was a “great actor,” while director Edgar Wright said he was a “genius.”
