British Columbia has lost major music festivals like Squamish, Pemberton and Skookum over recent years, but there are still plenty of great ones out there.
One of those is Laketown Shaketown, which takes place every summer at Laketown Ranch in the Cowichan Valley, a short drive from either of Vancouver Island’s main ferry terminals.
The headliners this year, which provide quite a taste of the 90s, are Wu-Tang Clan, Ludacris, Third Eye Blind and Nelly.
You’ll find some newer acts on the undercard, however, as local island favourites Current Swell are joined by BC names like A Tribe Called Red, Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Shred Kelly and Moontricks.
And it’s not just BC talent, as the lineup also features Gramatik, The Beaches, White Reaper, Haviah Mighty and plenty more.
The festival takes place on the weekend of June 26-28 and it is a camping festival.
Tickets are already on sale and can be purchased through the festival’s website.
