Get ready to light up the town and spread some holiday cheer at the 4th Annual Festival of Lights Parade and Charity Drive!
On December 10th at 6:00 pm, enthusiasts will gather at Rutland Senior Secondary to decorate their vehicles, parade through town, and collect toys for the pediatrics unit at KGH.
This heartwarming community event aims to make a difference during the Christmas season by supporting those in need.
Participants deck out their Jeeps and other 4X4 vehicles with festive lights, turning the parade into a dazzling spectacle.
But it's not just about the bright lights; it's about brightening the lives of children in need.
For the past three years, the parade has been dedicated to collecting toys for the pediatrics floor at KGH.
In 2021, the generous community donated 128 toys, and a remarkable $1350.00 was raised for the Elizabeth Fry Society through a raffle featuring prizes donated by local businesses.
Last year, $500 from a 50/50 draw went to support a local family facing hardships.
The spirit of giving back is at the core of this event, and the organizers hope to continue growing and contributing to the community's well-being each year.
The more, the merrier, so throw some lights on your vehicle, join the parade, and bring joy to the kids at KGH by donating toys.
Let's make this year's Festival of Light Parade the brightest and most impactful yet.
See you on December 10th at Rutland Senior Secondary, and let's light up the night for a good cause!
