A Canadian treasured comedian is coming to Kelowna this weekend.
On March 24 at 8 pm, Jon Dore will be taking the stage at the East Kelowna Community Hall to perform some stand up comedy.
"We are thrilled to bring Jon Dore to town, especially after his win at the Junos," says Velina Taskov from Jackpot Comedy.
Earlier this month, Dore received the Comedy Album of the Year award at the 2023 Juno Awards.
His comedy special, Big Questions Huge Answers, premiered on Comedy Central, and his other television credits include a guest star role in How I Met Your Mother and a lead role in How to Live With Your Parents.
Dore has had multiple guest appearances on Conan, Baroness Von Sketch Show, Inside Amy Schumer and Hart of Dixie, and he was featured in the films Corpse Tub, The Pickle Recipe, Stag and Teen Lust.
In addition to acting, Dore has a writing resumé that includes The Comedy Network’s The Jon Dore Show, CBC’s Just for Laughs, and HBO’s Funny as Hell.
For Friday night's show, Rustic Reel Brewing Co will be providing snacks and beverages, and there will be a cash-only raffle.
The sponsors include Jackpot Comedy, Rustic Reel, eXp Realty, Post Traumatic Strain Distribution and East Kelowna Market.
Doors open at 7 pm for the 19+ event.
General admission tickets are $35 and can be purchased here.
