A Penticton restaurant has been highlighted in the 2020 Travellers Choice awards for 2020.
With their stunning location right on Okanagan Lake, the Hooded Merganser at the Penticton Lakeside Resort and Conference Centre made it into the top 10% of restaurants in the world.
“Despite the uncertainty of the times, we're happy to announce that the Hooded Merganser Restaurant has received an incredible distinction from TripAdvisor,” said Francis Dellosa from the Penticton Lakeside Resort.
As guests return to their favourite restaurants, the Hooded Merganser has made a few changes to entice foodies from around the Okanagan and BC.
The restaurant has recently introduced a new head chef, Dan Vichittavong — who boasts an impressive resume.
Prior to moving to the west coast where he held the professional titles of Regional Head Chef for Warehouse Group and Head Chef at Tableau Bar Bistro, he attended George Brown College and got an internship with famed restaurateur, David Chang.
The Hooded Merganser has also recently made some changes to their menu as well, with a stronger focus on farm-to-table ingredients.
TripAdvisor releases a list of the best reviewed restaurants, destinations and attractions every year.
Winners are calculated based on the quality and quantity of the millions of reviews, opinions and ratings collected on Tripadvisor in 2019, prior to the pandemic.
