It’s been a long time coming, but good things come to those who wait.
Unleashed Brewing announced today that you are finally able to bring your dog inside their north end Kelowna taproom.
The exciting news comes just over a year after the brewery first opened its doors and is a result of months of hard work by owners.
It was a taxing process that needed to go through the City of Kelowna, Interior Health and the Province.
But as of today, Unleashed Brewing can call itself the first officially dog-friendly brewery in British Columbia.
“Thank you to everyone who filled out our survey and gave valuable feedback on why dogs should be able to join you at Unleashed Brewing,” the brewery said in an Instagram post.
There are some rules that patrons will need to follow with their four-legged furry friends.
Dogs will need to be healthy, up to date on vaccinations and have a valid licence.
And despite the brewery’s name, dogs will have to be on a leash at all times and owners must have it in their hands rather than tie it to a piece of furniture.
As you might expect, pups that hang out at Unleashed Brewing will need to be on their best behaviour.
That means respecting other patrons’ space, keeping the barking or whining to a minimum, staying on the floor and not chewing any of the furniture.
The brewery also notes that accidents will happen and they are the responsibility of the owner to clean up, but staff will provide people with a clean-up kit to do just that.
Finally, you are responsible for your animal’s actions, including any injuries they may cause, which means dogs who display aggressive behaviour will be asked to leave.
So once patio season ends and you're looking for a spot to enjoy a refreshing pint during the colder months, look no further than Unleashed Brewing!
