A Kamloops man has been charged with possessing child pornography.
Devan Shane Wallis, 32, is expected in court on Aug. 9.
He was arrested on July 2 but has been released on several conditions.
Wallis is forbidden to go to a public park, swimming area, community centre or theatre where anyone under the age of 18 could “reasonably be expected to be.”
Schools, daycares and playgrounds are also off-limits, alongside computers.
Kamloops RCMP said it was contacted by the BC Integrated Child Exploitation Unit (BC ICE) in April 2020 about child pornography suspected to have been uploaded locally.
A “lengthy investigation” followed, the RCMP said, resulting in the submission of a report to the BC Prosecution Service.
Wallis was subsequently charged by prosecutors with one count of possessing child pornography.
On Thursday, the RCMP said that another Interior man had been charged with child pornography offences.
