Now's your chance to learn more about how airplanes pick their routes.
The airport is inviting the public to learn more changes coming to flight paths at YLW. On Saturday, February 28th, staff from Nav Canada, WestJet, and YLW will be there to answer residents' questions about the changes and how they'll be affected.
This information session is part of the consultation process for the more condensed routes for YLW. The airport says that these new approaches to the airport will be of benefit to residents and the environment, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and noise.

The session is on Saturday between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on the second floor of the airport terminal. This event will be held at the same time as the airport's travel show, so parking will be free in the long-term lot. Make sure to bring in your parking voucher to be validated at the show.
While you're there, you can enter to win either tickets for two to Europe with Air Canada or a Northern adventure to Whitehorse from Air North, Yukon's airline. The prize ballots will be $5 for one, $10 for three, and $20 for six chances to win. The draw will be made at 3 p.m. on Saturday, but you don't need to be there to win. All proceeds of the event are going to the local charity East Meets West Orphan's Foundation.
So if you live near the airport or just want to know more about the changes, head over to the airport on Saturday.
