The bones discovered near Peterson Creek on Jan. 19 have been confirmed as belonging to missing person Joseph Driscoll.
Driscoll, a 42-year-old Kelowna man, was last seen walking around the Valleyview area in the early hours of Nov. 12, 2022.
Police received a report of suspected human bones discovered east of Peterson Creek, west of Rose Hill, above the 700-block of the East Trans Canada Highway.
“In working with the BC Coroner’s Service and with the Driscoll family, police can now confirm the bones did in fact belong to Joseph, and that he is deceased,” says Cpl. Crystal Evelyn of the Kamloops RCMP.
“We do not suspect criminality in his disappearance at this time,” she adds. “Our thoughts go out to the Driscoll family.”
Police and BC Coroners Service continue to work on concurrent investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the discovery of Driscoll’s remains.
The Driscoll family has requested privacy at this time.
