A development permit application for 120 rental units has been submitted at city hall.
Kerr Properties is eying 765 Badke Rd for their project. This property is situated between Hollywood Road and Frankyln Road in Rutland.
The building would be six-storeys, or 22 metres, in height.
According to the application, the units would be rentals.
There would be 28 one-bedrooms, 78 two-bedrooms and 14 three-bedrooms.
Over 130 vehicle parking stalls would be built along with 100 bicycle stalls.
Most of the parking would be in an underground parkade but there would be 21 surface parking stalls.
Around 850 square metres of common amenity space would be provided. This would include a play area for children, a dog run and outdoor lounge space on the southern portion of the property.
This site has townhouses to the north and west. There are several apartment buildings to the northeast and east.
The Willow Park shopping plaza is a short distance from the subject property.
It is also close to a transit corridor on Highway 33, which includes transit routes 10 and 8.
There is currently a small apartment building on the property, which would be demolished if the application is approved by council.
This application was submitted on Jan. 24 and was circulated around city hall on Mar. 1.
City staff may need a few more details before preparing a report for council consideration.
