The Kelowna Art Gallery is offering free admission on Family Day.
Families of all ages are invited to visit on Feb. 19 from 10 am until 4 pm.
“We have some fun and fabulous exhibitions right now that are perfect for introducing children to the wonders of art,” says Sumi Ali, education coordinator at the Gallery.
“We also know that children will want to be active, so we have planned a variety of art activities that will give families the opportunity to express their creativity together and to connect through art.”

Monday marks the last day of Wolves: The Art of Dempsey Bob, which displays the Tahltan-Tlingit carver’s incredible masks, sculptures and wood carvings which have been created over a lifetime of his craft.
Children can also have fun trying to find the Gopher in a Can in The General Store, a fun art installation that looks just like a real souvenir store.
The whole family can lie back and relax as they view the satellites in the skies above them in All the Stars We Cannot See.
The fun doesn’t stop there, visitors can create their own sill self-portraits and then string them together with the rest of their family’s portraits to form a unique Family Banner.
Space for that activity is limited, so registration is required.
To top off the day, the Art Lab creative making space will also be open for visitors to drop in and create artwork together using the supplies provided. No registration is required and the artwork is self-guided. All materials and instructions will be provided.
