The Kelowna Fire Department was called to rescue a female hiker who had injured her leg while hiking on Saturday.
At about 4:30 pm, the dispatch centre received a call that a 21-year-old had fallen and injured herself in Canyon Falls.
KFD’s technical rescue team, which included one engine, a common vehicle and about 10 personnel, was activated and sent out to rescue the woman.
After about an hour's walk in the area, the team located her by a waterfall.
Members of the team say she was cold and couldn't put any weight on her leg. Fortunately, they were able to get her out of the area quickly.
She was transported to a waiting ambulance and taken to the hospital for treatment of her injuries.
