Kelowna’s Pink Shirt Day Breakfast will return to the Laurel Packinghouse

Pink Shirt Day is set for Wednesday, Feb. 28, and Kelowna’s event will once again be held at the Laurel Packinghouse.

Hosted by BGC Okanagan, formerly known as the Boys and Girls Club of the Okanagan, the Pink Shirt Day Breakfast will take place from 7-9:30 am.

The fundraising event is touted as a celebration of kindness to support programs that foster empathy, inclusion and positive relationships for children, youth and families.

“By attending the Pink Shirt Day Breakfast, you join BGC Okanagan in making a real impact on the lives of children and youth,” says Richelle Leckey, BGG Okanagan’s community engagement coordinator.

“Together, we can foster kindness, belonging and support, creating a community where everyone thrives.”

Attendees can expect a light breakfast along with a talk from renowned speaker Trishia Miltimore, who will share insights on building positive relationships using the tools of kindness, community and gratitude.

It’s a message that BGC Okanagan says resonates with their vision as an organization.

“At BGC Okanagan, this day fits perfectly with our values of belonging, respect, encouragement and support, working together and speaking out,” adds Leckey.

Pink Shirt Day is a global movement, which originated in Canada, aimed at standing up against bullying and creating a safer and more inclusive world.
