Kelowna's outdoor rink at Stuart Park is officially open for the winter

One of Kelowna’s favourite winter traditions has returned for another year.

At 11:30 am today, the always-popular outdoor skating rink at Stuart Park has officially opened to the public.

It's perfect timing on the first day of December after a sprinkling of snow overnight, with more of the white stuff expected to fall over the weekend.

The rink will be available for use between 6 am and 11 pm daily until the end of February, with the exception of 6-8 am on Mondays when it’s closed for maintenance.

Skates can be rented on site, at a cost of $7 for adults and $6 for kids 12 and under, while EZ bars and helmets are available for $2 each.

Equipment rentals are cash only and the shop will be closed on Christmas Day.
