As part of a soft launch for a new app developed in Kelowna, there will be a ladies golf tournament this Sunday.
TourneyTime’s first Annual Ladies “Tea” Time Classic will be held at Mission Creek Golf Club on Aug. 20 at 12 pm, and no golf skills are required to take part.
“The Tourney Time app was created to bring people together on and off the green,” explains Jennifer R, a spokesperson for the app.
“It allows anyone to find or host golf tournaments across 20,000 courses in North America, and on an individual scale, the app allows users to find groups and meet fellow golfers.”
The $73.50 registration fee includes nine holes, a cart rental, a food voucher and prizes.
Some of those prizes include items donated by TWP Fitness Inc, Wings Kelowna Rutland, Habby Jacks Hot Sauces, 2 Ladies Soupin’it Up, Put a Lid on It, Gaia Delights, Ruthless Waffles and Jerry's Faves.
Those interested in playing at Sunday's tournament have until 5 pm on Thursday, Aug. 17 to register.
TourneyTime was developed by a group of four friends who plan to expand the app by hosting sporting events such as pickleball and volleyball, as well as smaller meet and greet events.
Golfers wanting to host small group events before the end of the year are encouraged to try out the app, as they are eligible for prizes and event support from the TourneyTime team.
