A Kelowna woman who lost her battle with cancer on April 28 has left behind her husband and two children who are navigating the devastating loss and financial burden that comes with that.
Lonna Gerak Tozer had previously battled cancer, and unfortunately, was left in a position where she was unable to obtain life insurance.
A GoFundMe page has been set up by one of her friends, Jenny Friesen, to hopefully raise $50,000 to support Lonna’s husband, Robin, and their two young sons, Riley and Logan.
The funds raised will help alleviate financial stress and keep the family in their home.
“Lonna was a loved member of her community and was known for her kindness, positivity and strength,” Friesen writes on the fundraising page.
“She was a dedicated wife, mother and friend, and her sudden loss has left a hole in the hearts of all that knew her.”
So far, the community has raised over $24,000 for the Tozer family.
“Any donation, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated and will contribute towards helping this family through this very difficult time,” Friesen adds.
“Our thoughts and love are with Robin, Riley and Logan and all who knew and loved Lonna.”
