Man who asked girls to come into his vehicle to look at dog had 'no criminal intent': Kelowna RCMP

Mounties in Kelowna have determined that there was “no criminal intent” after a man was reported to have invited four girls into his car.

The incident, which was reported on March 26, occurred on March 22 at about 3:45 pm along Forest Edge Road.

The children said the man – a stranger to them – had driven alongside them and asked if they would like to get inside his vehicle to see his dog.

The girls said no and fled to a relative’s house.

But the RCMP has since found the man involved in the incident and spoken with him.

“We have determined that there was no criminal intent on his part, and he deeply regrets causing the children, their families, and the community concern,” Cpl Jocelyn Noseworthy said.

“We have also determined that this incident is not related to any of the other recent reports.”
