The Kelowna RCMP is investigating yet another suspicious incident involving a stranger asking young children to get into a vehicle.
The latest report came in today, but it happened on Monday in the Glenmore area.
According to police, a strange man drove up to four young girls who were walking on Forest Edge Drive around 3:45 pm.
“The man had a small dog with him and asked them if they wanted to get into his vehicle,” explained an RCMP release. “The girls said no and ran to a relatives’ house.”
The RCMP continue to investigate this incident and are working to determine a description of the man and his vehicle, but few details are known at this time.
Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy said the four girls did “everything right” in this situation and the incident is very concerning.
“Please remember that you should never attempt to interact with, or pick up, children that you don’t know,” said Noseworthy.
“If you are concerned for a child in the community, please call the police in your jurisdiction immediately and we will follow up and ensure their safety.”
Anyone who witnessed this incident, lives in the area or has surveillance video that could help this investigation is urged to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
You can also report tips anonymously to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477.
This wasn’t the only suspicious incident to happen on Monday.
The Kelowna RCMP are still investigating after two boys were approached by a strange man in the Mission on the same day, just two hours earlier.
