PHOTOS: Sunshine and Easter eggs

The sun was shining this past Easter Sunday as locals gathered at City Park for various activities while some were just enjoying the outdoors.

Hosted by Praxis Church and open to the community, individuals gathered near Hot Sands Beach for an outdoor ceremony, followed by a wide array of events.

The main event of the day was a large Easter egg hunt in the middle of City Park.

Children of various ages were let out in waves and stampeded their way to gather eggs.

To make things fair, the eggs were empty and there was a limit of items allowed to be collected, with the empty eggs eventually being exchanged for candy.

But hidden among the sea of coloured plastic eggs were a handful of golden eggs that, if found, the children got an extra prize.

With their focus directed on finding a golden egg, the hunt lasted a little longer instead of being a mad dash to the finish, but a patient search.

Afterwards, there was face painting and bouncy castles to enjoy and a handful of food trucks on the side.

All around the event people were enjoying the park and the warm weather, with some walking, biking, and even a couple parasailing.
