Plans revealed for 40-storey tower near UBCO campus in downtown Kelowna

Mission Group has revealed plans for a mixed-use project that would be located to the north of the 43-storey UBCO tower that is currently under construction.

The developer is eyeing 1355 St Paul Street for a 40-storey building.

According to the design plans, there would be 462 residential units and 407 parking stalls.

The design plans show that levels two to five would be designated for parking while levels six and seven would accommodate an amenity deck.

Of those residential units, 308 would be designated as rentals on levels eight to 29 and the remaining 154 would be market condos on floors 30-40.

There would be 165 bachelor units, 165 one-bedrooms, 33 one-bedrooms with a den and 99 two-bedrooms.

There would be nearly 840 square feet of commercial space on the main floor, fronting onto St. Paul Street. There would also be a co-working space on the main floor.

City staff have circulated this proposal around the planning department, however, it may be a few more weeks before this project is presented to city council for consideration.

Plans were previously introduced about two years ago for a 16-storey building for commercial uses and a 30-storey residential tower.
