Mounties and members of Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) were involved in a search for a potential missing person around the Bennett Bridge on Friday night.
The search began when a witness called police to report that they saw an unknown man jump from the bridge into Okanagan Lake.
A COSAR weekend debrief says members searched “through the night” and into Saturday morning for the man.
Despite their efforts in the water around the bridge and on the Kelowna side around City Park, the subject was not found.

“Following a thorough review of available video footage, investigators believe the male did not enter the water,” West Kelowna RCMP Cst. Ash Puri told KelownaNow.
“Evidence indicates he landed on a hard surface below the bridge and then left the area on foot. As a result, search efforts involving COSAR were stood down.”
Puri confirmed that no missing person reports have been received and the unknown jumper has not been identified.
As such, police “are not treating this incident as a missing persons investigation at this time.”
