(UPDATE: March 1 @ 2:50 pm) - A police incident that drew officers to multiple locations in Kelowna today has come to an end.
Police have confirmed that the Southeast District Emergency Response Team was called in to assist and all suspects have now been brought into custody.
Officers were first called to the 5700 block of Gillard Creek Forest Service Road in south Kelowna around 8 am today.
The RCMP asked the public to stay away from the area as they searched for suspects.
A little later on, officers swarmed the area of McCurdy Road East and Gibson Road in Rutland.
Police have now confirmed that the large police presence in Rutland was related to the same incident that drew officers to south Kelowna.
“The investigation is still ongoing and, thankfully, all outstanding suspects have been arrested,” said Sgt. Judith Bertrand in a media release.
The RCMP has promised further information on the nature of the incident once it becomes available.
For now, anyone who witnessed today's proceedings and has information that could assist investigators is urged to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.

Officers were called to an incident in the 5700 block of Gillard Creek Forest Service Road around 8 am today.
While police are staying tight-lipped about the situation at this time, they noted that the search for multiple suspects is ongoing.
“We are asking for the public to stay away from the area as there are suspects outstanding,” said Sgt. Judith Bertrand in a media release.
Although little information has been made public, the RCMP asked anyone with information on the ongoing incident to contact the Kelowna detachment 250-762-3300.
People can also report tips anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
Police promised further information once it becomes available.
