Rock The Lake announces new July dates along with first 4 artists for 2024

This story was originally written on April 11, 2024.

Rock The Lake will be taking place a month earlier this year.

The festival broke out of its winter hibernation this morning with its first major announcement regarding the 2024 edition of the event.

Rock The Lake 2024 be held in the Prospera Place parking lot from Friday, July 12, through Sunday, July 14, after several years of being a staple of Kelowna’s August events schedule.

Along with the date change, Rock The Lake also dropped the first four names from this year’s lineup.

Those names are Theory of a Deadman, Tom Cochrane, Our Lady Peace and 54-40, with several more artists to be announced in the coming weeks.

Rock The Lake is citing wildfire concerns as the reason for the date change this year and organizers say they understand that may throw a wrench into some people’s plans.

“We understand that many of our most loyal Rock The Lake fans have made plans around the previous dates, and we are reaching out to these affected customers directly,” said Mike Strawn from GSL Group.

“The choice to move the dates was not an easy one, however, we are fully invested in this community and event, and we feel we needed to make this change to set this festival and community up for success."

The 2023 event smashed attendance records for the seven-year-old festival and GSL Group is promising a “significant increase in investment” to help the event continue to grow with internationally-recognized rock stars.

Full weekend passes for Rock The Lake 2024 are now available through Select Your Tickets and they will set you back $189 after fees and taxes. VIP passes are available as well.
