The Lobster Pot food truck is setting up shop in Kelowna

East coast transplants and anyone who simply loves lobster is about to have a new favourite lunch spot.

A year after launching in Vernon, The Lobster Pot food truck is set to expand the business into Kelowna starting on Tuesday.

The popular east-coast food truck will be at Gasoline Alley Harley-Davidson of Kelowna seven days a week from 11 am until 5 pm.

You’ll find two scrumptious options on the menu; the incredibly popular Lobster Rolls along with a Lobster Mac N’ Cheese.

“Our lobster rolls are our most popular item by a long shot. That’s what we started with and that’s what we’re known for the most,” said owner Mike Taylor, adding that the Lobster Mac N’ Cheese is still wonderful.

“We’ll probably just stick to the two items for the time being. We have small trailers, they’re basic, we try not to make them too complicated. Our goal is to focus on being really good at one or two things instead of having 500 items on the menu and stretching ourselves too thin.

If you weren’t already convinced that The Lobster Pot is worth a shot, it might help to know that they fly their lobster in from the east coast, currently Prince Edward Island, so it’s the real deal.

The lobster isn’t the only thing from the east coast, as Taylor and his wife Julie are originally from the Maritimes and it’s their time out east that spawned the idea behind The Lobster Pot.

Taylor says they’re going to stick with their one Kelowna location as they get up and running in the Central Okanagan, but didn’t rule out the possibility of being at various events around the city.

However, right now there aren’t many events for food trucks to attend, as most have been cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns.
