Three Kelowna based companies make list of top 100 in B.C.

Three Kelowna-based companies made the list for fastest growing companies in B.C., released by Business Vancouver in August 2017.

The three digitally-based local companies were ranked amongst businesses across the province according to their percentage revenue growth between 2012 and 2016.

#9 Bardel Entertainment

Bardel Entertainment, which has offices in Vancouver and Kelowna, ranked ninth with a five-year revenue growth of 1,387.4%.

“We are honored and fortunate to be recognized on a list among many other great companies operating in the Province,” says Richard Greive, Bardel's SVP of Finance and Business Affairs. “Much of Bardel's growth can be attributed to providing our people with an engaging work environment. We place a strong focus on clients and projects that foster creative collaboration.”

Greive says it is their focus on innovative thinking that makes their work engaging.

“I think many of the artists and staff feel a sense of pride when they see they work broadcast internationally for all to see,” he adds.

#27 Csek Creative

Csek Creative, a web design and marketing agency in Kelowna, was founded in 1999 by Nikki Csek, CEO, and Jim Csek, COO and CFO. Csek Creative ranked 27th in the list with a revenue growth of 338.9% over the last five years.

"I am most proud of our bravery as an agency," explained Csek Creative CEO Nikki Csek. "We are not afraid to go where others have not, or to challenge what others in our industry say or do.”

The growth of this company has come largely in the past three years, over which time Csek Creative has acquired two companies with offices in Kamloops and Salmon Arm, moved headquarters into a 7,200 square foot. office in downtown Kelowna, and more than doubled the size of their team.

"The future for Csek Creative is very exciting. It keeps me awake at night thinking about what is possible and what is to come," says Csek.

#58 Acro Media

Acro Media is a software development company based in Kelowna. They had a revenue growth of 126.6% in the last five years, placing them at number 58 in the list of 100.

Heading into their 19th year of business, Acro attributes its growth in the last five years to an increased focus on its services. In the last 18 months, they’ve grown from 45 employees to 70 employees.

“It’s about delivery on our purpose and our vision,” said CEO Shae Inglis. “We’re trying to bridge that gap between enterprise commerce and open source.”

“We’re just trying to grow the business, and really focusing in on what we’re offering,” says Inglis. “Most of that growth is attributed to that focus.”

The top three companies in the list of 100 were Jostle Corp, which ranked first, Cardiome Pharma Corp in second, and Precision NanoSystems Inc in third. For the full list of the fastest growing companies, click here.
