Upgrades underway for splash pad at Ben Lee Park

Spring is right around the corner and another sunny Okanagan summer is not far behind.

However, we’re still a couple months away from consistent hot weather and the always-anticipated opening of splash parks around the Central Okanagan.

When that does happen in May, things will look a little different on the splash pad at Ben Lee Park in Rutland.

That’s because work is now underway to upgrade the popular splash park with new, local-manufactured features.

Over the coming weeks, crews will be installing several exciting pieces of equipment to give the Ben Lee splash park a makeover.

That includes:

  • A 12-foot-tall Sling Soaker water feature.
  • Spray animals (raccoon, owl, and shark) that rotate 360 degrees and have a 10-foot splash radius.
  • A Fun Brella water feature.
  • A freestanding frog waterfall water feature.

The City of Kelowna says work is scheduled to be completed in time for the park’s annual opening, which usually happens around the May long weekend.
