Ogopogo Rotary’s annual Mystery Whiskey Tasting event will return to Kelowna next weekend.
The evening of whisky tasting will take place at the Centre for Learning atrium at Okanagan College’s Kelowna campus, starting at 7 pm on Saturday, Feb. 24.
Whisky ambassadors will guide attendees through a mystery tasting of seven of Scotland’s finest single-malt whiskies.
According to organizers, some of them are up to 25 years old and they come from a range of unique distilleries.
“The whiskies we’ve chosen will be a carefully curated selection design to challenge your senses and taste buds,” explains Mark Dixon, a whisky ambassador.
“One of our experts from Scotland will take you through how to test each Whisky and to identify each one by its own unique characteristics.”
Not only will the night be full of fantastic whisky, tasty appetizers and delicious shortbreads, it’s also in support of a great cause.
The event has raised $50,000 over the years and proceeds from the 2024 edition will be shared between the Okanagan College Foundation and other local charities that Ogopogo Rotary supports.
"We can’t thank the Kelowna Ogopogo Rotary Club enough," notes Helen Jackman, director of the Okanagan College Foundation.
"Their generous contribution of $15,000 supported our Health Sciences Centre, which is now educating hundreds of health-care students to serve in our community. Cheers to that and a toast to the success of the 2024 whisky tasting.”
