Heads up lacrosse fans — there's some exciting news from the Kelowna Minor Lacrosse Association (KMLA)!
Make way for the Female Box Lacrosse Registration, now open for the 2024 season. For the first time, female players can choose between joining an all-women's team or co-ed teams, offering a greater sense of flexibility and involvement in our beloved sport. The Association tips their hats to the fantastic female lacrosse players who continue to make the game great!
There might be a chill in the air, but the heat is rising as we anticipate the upcoming free Learn to Play event! Slated for February 21, 2024, the event will be held at MNP Place from 6:15 pm to 7:45 pm. Open to all players born between 2001-2008, it's the perfect way for potential lacrosse enthusiasts to try out "The Fastest Game on Two Feet". Just remember to bring your helmet, gloves, and stick – equipment will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Kelowna's lacrosse scene continues to garner accolades and milestones, with the Kelowna Kodiaks U15 Field Team heading to Richmond to compete in the Provincial Championship from the 16th to 19th of February, 2024.
Like a testament to the communality and inter-region collaboration that lacrosse fosters, four of Kelowna Kodiaks' U11 Field Players have been handpicked to join the Penticton Heat U11 Field Team! This opportunity is an excellent chance to foster teamwork, and we're eager to see these athletes make their mark at the U11 Field Provincial Tournament in Nanaimo from February 9-11. Best of luck, team!
With each passing year, we continue to see the growth and development of lacrosse within our community and across the Central Okanagan.
