It was one of the very last Okanagan events to come off as planned before the world shut down for COVID in early 2020. And as always, it was a thrilling multicultural extravaganza well worth the time of anyone who showed up.
And a lot of people did.
But that was it. In 2021 and 2022 it was forced to go "virtual" -- a pale imitation of the "live" experience.
Now in 2023, it's back.
On Feb. 25, South Okanagan Immigrant & Community Services (SOICS) presents the 11th annual OneWorld Multicultural Festival, live and in-person, at the Penticton Lakeside Resort.
For five straight hours that Saturday, there'll be dancing, there'll be music, there'll be food, there'll be stories, there'll be products, there'll be colours and there'll be conversation from across the globe.
More than 35 countries will be represented at the 2023 edition and to top it off, admission is absolutely free.
The 10th annual OneWorld Festival runs 11 am to 4 pm, Saturday, Feb. 25. For more info on SOICS and the good work they do, check out the website here and the latest PentictonNow SOICS article here.
