After four years without a dog in the White House, a rescue is set to make up for that.
President-elect Joe Biden’s dog Major will be the first ever rescue to live in the White House.
Major, one of United States president-elect, Joe Biden's dog, will make history as the first rescue dog to live at The White House. The Bidens adopted Major from @delawarehumane in 2008 where he joined Champ, another German Shepherd. Welcome #MajorBiden! #AdoptDontShop pic.twitter.com/xE7tByXpTG

Jill and Joe Biden adopted the German Shepherd from the Delaware Humane Society 2018, after which he joined Biden's other dog Champ.
A photo shared by the Delaware Humane Society shows Biden and Major on the day of his adoption as a reminder to adopt, not shop.
Major isn’t the only one to make history after this election. Kamala Harris will be the country’s new Vice-President — making her the first woman of colour to hold the position.
