A BC police department says a $100,000 reward for any information on a wanted 36-year-old Vancouver man who is currently wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.
Vancouver Police have partnered with the BOLO program and Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers to locate Cody Timothy Casey who is wanted on 17 different drug and firearm offences.
The national BOLO program currently has Casey as the third most wanted man in Canada.
He is described as 6’, around 200 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
Members of the public are strongly advised to take no action to apprehend Casey yourself. He may be armed and dangerous.
“VPD’s Organized Crime Section began an investigation in February 2020, which led to charges against Casey in relation to the production and trafficking of fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine, as well as firearm offences,” says Insp. Phil Heard, commanding officer of VPD's Organized Crime Section.
“Prior to having to appear for trial in 2022, investigators believe Casey left Canada. However, we believe there are people in Metro Vancouver who have knowledge of his current whereabouts.”
In February 202, the VPD executed a search warrant at an alleged drug lab in a downtown Vancouver condo. Over four kg of fentanyl was located at that time.
On July 27, 2020, the VPD executed another six search warrants at locations across Metro Vancouver.
Police seized more than 20 kg of fentanyl, nearly 10 kg of methamphetamine, three firearms, a live grenade and over $315,000 in cash. The drugs seized were estimated to be worth nearly $5 million.
Three days later, Casey was arrested and released on bail with conditions, including wearing an electronic monitoring bracelet. He allegedly removed the bracelet on April 10, 2022, about two weeks before he was due to stand trial.
He has been on the run and evading arrest since, say the VPD.
The $100,000 reward is available until Nov. 23 and the tipster will have one year to collect it.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Cody Casey is asked to call investigators at 604-717-9979 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
