Residents on B.C.’s coast may have felt some shaking Sunday evening as a magnitude 4.1 earthquake was detected.
The earthquake was reported 68 kilometres south of the Village of Queen Charlotte just minutes before 7 p.m. According to Earthquakes Canada, the shaking was lightly felt in Queen Charlotte and Skidegate and the earthquake had a depth of 10 km.
Statistical data shows that this area is prone to small earthquakes as hundreds have been reported over the years.
As would be expected, there were no reports of injuries or damage because of the earthquake.
