While there are things in life that can bring out the worst in people, there are also things that can bring out the best.
For many animal lovers and pet owners, animals can bring out the very best in humans. It is for that reason the BC SPCA decided to launch a new television ad campaign that celebrates the remarkable and unique animal-human bond most animal lovers share with furry friends in their lives.
Three 15-second videos highlight different themes:
Animals bring out the child in us,
Animals bring out the lover in us,
And animals bring out the healer in us.
“Our animals don’t see our flaws or shortcomings- they love us as we are, unconditionally, which is a pretty amazing gift,” said BC SPCA general manager of community relations, Lorie Chortyk.
“The campaign highlights the value of animals in our society and how they truly bring out the best in us.”
The ads will run throughout 2016. The main goal is to remind people how much animals enrich lives and the importance of ensuring pets are valued and cherished.
“It’s a reciprocal bond- there is a lot of research on how animals positively impact our health and we hear anecdotal stories all the time about how animals have helped people through extremely difficult times in their lives, such as illness, bereavement or social isolation,” said explained Chortyk.
The videos can be viewed through the BC SPCA website. Viewers can also find more information on how they can celebrate their own unique bond with their pet.
