(UPDATE: Dec. 3 @ 12:05 pm) - The official, updated order regarding gathering and events currently prohibited in British Columbia due to COVID-19 has been released.
While the order appeared to focus on indoor adult team sports when discussed on Wednesday, it now encompasses virtually all indoor and outdoor sports.

(Original story: Dec. 2 @ 6 pm) - During today’s COVID-19 update, Dr. Bonnie Henry announced additional measures that target adult team sports.
Previously, only high-intensity fitness activities like spin, hot yoga, bootcamps, dance classes and other similar classes were prohibited in British Columbia.
Now, you can add all indoor adult team sports to that list, which means an end to virtually all recreational sports leagues for now.

While all adult team sports are now prohibited, the release said that “structured child and youth programs and sport are permitted, but must meet and follow the ViaSport Phase 2 requirements.”
During today’s briefing, Dr. Henry revealed that a beer league hockey team from the BC Interior recently travelled to Alberta for a tournament.
A large portion of the team contracted COVID-19 while away and brought it back home with them, where it has started to spread rampantly in their community.
It wasn’t specified whether that specific event was part of the reason behind this latest ban.
