One man dead, another hospitalized after ATV crash on BC forest service road

Mounties in Agassiz are investigating a fatal ATV crash that happened near Harrison Lake last week.

Police responded to a report of the collision at the 4-kilometre mark of East Harrison Forest Service Road around 10:40 pm on Tuesday, June 4.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found two men down an embankment with “significant injuries.”

“Combined efforts of Agassiz RCMP, BC Emergency Health Services, Search and Rescue, and Agassiz Fire Department were crucial in navigating the steep terrain to access the collision site,” noted an RCMP release.

Unfortunately, one of the men, who police say was in his mid 30s, was declared dead at the scene. The other victim, who was in his late 20s, was transported to hospital with undefined injuries.

Police continue to gather evidence as they piece together the fatal incident and, as a result, will not be releasing any further information at this time.
