This BC market has redesigned their plastic bags to ‘stop people from taking them’

We’re all guilty of forgetting our reusable bags at home when going to the grocery store, and this B.C. market has come up with a strategy to help their customers to never forget again.

Many corporations have been taking action to help save the planet and reduce pollution and waste, such as by replacing plastic straws with paper straws, and implementing zero waste strategies, but this company has a very creative approach.

In an effort to reduce the use of single-use plastics, the East West Market is Vancouver has redesigned their plastic bags to “stop people from taking them.”

On Facebook, the market said that over one million plastic bags are used every minute.

Their bags now have embarrassing branding on them, such as “The Colon Care Co-op” and “Into the Weird Adult Video Emporium,” hoping that people will be too embarrassed to take home their groceries in them more than once.

Would these bags shame you into bringing your own?
