Heavy snowfall is expected along Hwy 1 between Eagle Pass and Rogers Pass tonight.
Environment Canada said in a snowfall warning that up to 20 centimetres could accumulate later today and Tuesday.
The department warned of poor visibility in heavy snow and difficult travel conditions.
“A frontal system moving across southern BC will bring heavy snow to the Rogers Pass area beginning tonight,” the warning explains.
“Heavy snow will ease to periods of light snow Tuesday morning. A cold front forecast to pass through Tuesday afternoon will produce another round of flurries, at times heavy.
“The snow will end Tuesday evening with the passage of the cold front.”
A separate snowfall warning was earlier issued for the Coquihalla Highway.
