Hey, why's a BMW motorcycle parked in the middle of this spectacular penthouse condo?

Is it a motorcycle as art?

Or, is it art as a motorcycle?

Either way, this customized BMW R nineT Cafe Racer motorcycle is parked, pride of place, under the floating stairs in the middle of the penthouse condominium on the 26th floor of the Skye tower on Kelowna's tony Sunset Drive.

</who>This classic roadster BMW motorcycle is a showpiece parked in the 'Skye Home' penthouse condo that's listed for sale for $3.5 million. Below, a similar bike on the street.

"It took some real effort to get it in there," said Engel & Volkers realtor Richard Deacon, who has the 'Skye Home' penthouse listed for sale for a cool $3.5M.

"The builder took the opportunity when the penthouse was gutted to the studs to be completely renovated to get the bike in there. There was talk of a wine cellar under the stairs, but the builder is a motorcycle buff and felt a motorcycle there has more impact."

Whoever buys the penthouse will have the option to include or add on the classic roadster Beemer bike to the sale for $21,000.

A motorcycle parked in the middle of the home is just one of many special and luxury items in this penthouse that make it spectacular.

"With what I do, I've been in a lot of penthouses and 'Skye Home' is the best between Vancouver and Calgary, if not between Vancouver and Toronto.l It's rarefied air," said Deacon.

"In fact, it's the kind of penthouse you'd find in Miami or New York or Dubai."

Two other unique features are the 15-foot lemon tree in the primary bedroom and a 12-foot olive tree in the living room.

"They add interest and warm up what is essentially a glass-box living space," said Deacon.

The main part of the penthouse covers 1,506 square feet on the 26th floor of the Skye tower that was Kelowna's tallest building when it was completed in 2014.

(Since then, the neighbouring One Water condos have soared higher at 29 and 36 storeys.)

</who>'Skye Home' is atop the Skye tower on the 26th and 27th floors.

'Skye Home' has an open-concept, double-height living room, dining room and kitchen flanked by two walls of glass to the view of Okanagan Lake and downtown Kelowna.

There's a balcony off the living room and dining room.

But, the real showstopper outdoor space is up the floating stairs (under which the motorcycle gleams) to the rooftop where there's a 634-square-foot terrace in the sky with jaw-dropping views.

The buyer will have the option to upgrade the rooftop with an outdoor kitchen, fire bowls and hottub package.

</who>Richard Deacon of Engel & Volkers is the listing agent.

Edward West Luxury Homes of Kelowna put $1 million into the rebuilding of the penthouse and has listed it for sale with Deacon for that aforementioned $3.5 million.

At 1,506 square feet for the indoor living areas, two bedrooms, three bathrooms and a den, Deacon likens the penthouse to a five-star hotel suite.

"The reality is the buyer of this property will likely use this penthouse as their second, third or even fourth home," he said.

"So, they will come and go and stay as they would in a hotel suite."

Thus said, it will probably take some time to find the right buyer for this specialized penthouse.

"It was listed Jan. 5 and we've had two or three parties interested," said Deacon.

"It will likely sell in the spring or summer when the market picks up and potential buyers from around the world look at Kelowna."

Most real estate listings are full of flowery language.

And the listing for 'Skye Home' is no different.

However, it fully deserves the superlatives from 'transcends the ordinary,' 'straight from the pages of Architectural Digest magazine,' and 'embodying the pinnacle of luxury living' to 'redefine the standards of sophisticated living,' 'epitome of contemporary elegance and innovation' and finally, simply 'masterpiece.'
