What makes a home worth a mammoth $32 million?
Set it on a perfect plot of land with a substantial stretch of idyllic Okanagan Lake shoreline.
Make it a sprawling, vaulted 9-bedroom, 16-bathroom mansion with all the high-end bells and whistles.
Further, locate and style it for paramount seclusion and the greatest serenity.

This lakeside estate at 12301 Pixton Rd. in Lake Country became the most expensive residential sale ever in the BC Interior when it was purchased recently for the aforementioned stupendous amount of $32 million.
Actually, the property was listed for sale for $39,898,000 -- so, the $32 million works out to be a bit of a bargain.
"Remarkable waterfront estate on Okanagan Lake," said Kelowna-based listing agent Jane Hoffman of Unison Jane Hoffman Realty about the property.
"This majestic property provides 8.5 acres of lush landscaping and approximately 850 feet of pristine water frontage with a newly installed state-of-the-art wharf system at the water’s edge. Expertly positioned, the nearly 20,000-square-foot main residence was designed to maximize privacy and offer the utmost in tranquility."

It was Priscilla Sookarow of ReMax Priscilla Realty in Vernon who brought in the buyer.
For privacy, neither the name of the seller or the buyer has been revealed.
The $32-million sale not only sets a new echelon for priciest ever in the BC Interior, but it shatters the old record.
And the old record was only established last month when an estate on a nearby swath of Okanagan Lake waterfront at 16080 Carrs Landing Rd. sold for $17.5 million.

But, back to the new record and the mansion at 12391 Pixton.
Wow factor abounds throughout.
The triple-height great room has a vaulted, wood-beamed ceiling, a massive stone fireplace and is framed on three sides by expansive windows that drink in the lake views.

The chef's kitchen has not one, not two, but three islands.
One of the main bedrooms also has a fireplace and the king-size bed is positioned so you can wake up with a direct view to the lake through a sliding glass wall.

The master bathroom is massive with a free-standing tub as the focal point.
The three-bedroom guest wing is connected to the main house by a marble corridor.
Outdoor living abounds, too, with a swimming pool, patios full of plush seating, dining tables and bar seating -- all with lake views, of course.

The home was built by Legacy Homeworks of Vernon in 2017.
Legacy is owned by Doug Pusey and the contractor managed the construction of the Outback Resort in Vernon and built many of the high-end homes there, too.
The home was styled by interior designer Tara Sullivan Woll of Red Crayon Design in Kelowna, who has also worked on other luxury homes in the Okanagan.
