(UPDATE: Feb. 11 @ 11:30 am) - A Facebook group dedicated to searching for Lucas Singer-Kraus announced Saturday night he had been found and asked the family’s privacy be respected during this “incredibly difficult time.”
“At this time, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy as they navigate this heartbreaking loss. Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers,” reads the Facebook group post.
KelownaNow reached out to the RCMP, as police have not made a statement about the situation.
The 23-year-old was previously last seen on Jan. 31, 2024, at his home in West Kelowna before disappearing.
A large search ensued with police, search and rescue groups, and volunteers helping out at various times over the past couple of weeks.
The family turned their kitchen into a search headquarters as members of the Okanagan Forest Task Force (OFTF) also helped out.
"We've got a crew of eight or nine people out here," said Kane Black of the OFTF to KelownaNow last week.
"In a situation like this, the more eyes the better. We will push on as much as we possibly can with or without search and rescue."
The Saturday night Facebook post also asked members of the community to remove posters of Singer-Kraus.
