A popular Central Okanagan mini golf course has been forced to stay closed for the summer.
Katherine Watson, manager of 19 Greens, confirmed to KelownaNow that the natural grass putting course and carpet mini golf course will not be opening this year.
“Unfortunately, our land is currently pending a deal so we will not be opening,” she said, but no further comment was provided.
That pending deal is the 500-unit condo development proposed for 2050 Campbell Rd. at the bottom of Bridge Hill in Westbank.
Westbank First Nation Chief and Council gave initial consideration to amend the property’s zoning designation on March 7.
If approved, it would change the land from ‘Golf Course - GC and Multi Family Residential’ to ‘Planned Unit Development’.
The proposed development would feature three mid rise condo buildings between six and 10 storeys in height.
It would have a mix of one-, two- and three-bedrooms units.
