Summer events return to the Plaza in West Kelowna

The City of West Kelowna and Visit Westside welcome you, your family and friends to the City Hall’s outdoor plaza for fun summer events and experiences.

Starting Wednesday, May 27, Pop-Ups on the Plaza returns with a vibrant lineup of art, culture and active living experiences designed to bring people together in the heart of the community.

Pop-Ups on the Plaza details

  • West Kelowna City Hall upper plaza, located at 3731 Old Okanagan Hwy.
  • Free to attend.
  • On Wednesdays from May to September. See below for the full schedule or visit westkelownacity.ca/popups.
  • Pre-registration is not required as this is a drop-in style of event.

2026 Pop-Ups on the Plaza schedule

Wednesday, May 27 – Pottery Class: Plant Markers | 6:30 – 7:30 pm

  • Create whimsical air-dry clay plant markers using stamps and texture tools. Perfect for gardeners and creators of all ages.

Wednesday, June 3 – Yoga Class | 6:30 – 7:30 pm

  • Enjoy a relaxing outdoor yoga session suitable for beginners and experienced yogis alike.

Wednesday, June 10 – Tai Chi Class | 6:30 – 7:30 pm

  • Discover gentle movements that improve balance, flexibility and focus in a welcoming environment.

Wednesday, June 17 – Lion, Dragon and Drumming Class | 6:30 – 7:30 pm

  • Experience a high-energy evening of movement, rhythm and cultural celebration.

Wednesday, June 24 – Zumba Class | 6:30 – 7:30 pm

  • Dance, move and sweat in a fun outdoor fitness class for all levels.

Wednesday, July 8 – Pottery Class: Bookmarks | 6:30 – 7:30 pm

  • Design and create your own textured clay bookmarks in this creative Make & Take session.

Wednesday, July 22 – Salsa Class | 6:30 – 7:30 pm

  • Learn beginner-friendly salsa and bachata steps in a fun and social atmosphere. No partner required.

Wednesday, Aug. 12 – Zumba Class | 6:30 – 7:30 pm

  • Return to the Plaza for another energetic evening of dance fitness.

Wednesday, Aug. 26 – Tinikling Bamboo Dance Class | 6:30 – 7:30 pm

  • Try this lively traditional Filipino dance focused on rhythm, teamwork and movement.

Wednesday, Sept. 2 – Back to School Bash | 5 – 7 pm

  • Celebrate the new school year with games, music and family-friendly fun geared toward elementary-aged children.

Wednesday, Sept. 9 – Yoga Class | 6:30 – 7:30 pm

  • Stretch, relax and recharge with a calming evening yoga session outdoors.

Wednesday, Sept. 16 – Youth Cornhole | 5 – 7 pm

  • Youth ages 12 and older are invited for an evening of cornhole, music, prizes, food and community connections.

Participants are encouraged to bring comfortable clothing, shoes, water bottles and any recommended equipment such as yoga mats.

Visit our Friday Markets on the Plaza before Music in the Park

Mark your calendars for select Fridays for Markets on the Plaza, where you can purchase local market items before the crowd-favourite Music in the Park. Markets will be held from 3 - 8 p.m. in conjunction with Music in the Park on Friday evenings at 6:30 p.m.

About Pop-Ups on the Plaza

Pop-Ups on the Plaza are Wednesday night summer events focused on engaging community members in a number of free art, cultural and active events. Pop-Ups on the Plaza was designed to bring people together and enliven the spaces around City Hall and Memorial Park. Each event offers something for everyone, including lively dance classes, yoga sessions, a market and much more!
