The City of West Kelowna is inviting the members of the community to the first council meeting that will be held publicly in the new city hall.
The next meeting will happen on Tuesday, May 28 at 6 pm.
Over the past couple weeks, staff have been moving all the audio-video equipment to the new purpose-built facility.
The new city hall officially opened to the public on May 21.
They say all the appropriate testing has been completed and council chambers are now ready for public meetings.
“Council is very pleased to provide this new City Hall as a place of governance and administration for our community,” said Mayor Gord Milsom.
“It’s been 17 years since we’ve been in temporary facilities, and it feels great to be in our first purpose-built City Hall and host an inaugural Council Meeting in proper Council Chambers. We’re certainly proud of the new building and I know our residents will also be proud of their new City Hall.”
Although the public can still stop by to watch the meeting in-person, live streaming and webcasts will continue to be offered.
