(UPDATE: June 5 @ 5:15 pm) - The BC Wildfire Service reports the small wildfire that sparked near Kelowna International Airport earlier this afternoon is now being held.
The fire reached 0.5 hectares in size.
A cause of the fire has still not been established.
KelownaNow will update this story when that information becomes available.
(UPDATE: June 5 @ 3:55 pm) - A pair of BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) attack crews are en route to a fire north of the Kelowna International Airport.
A spokesperson with the BCWS added that a birddog and air tanker were already at the scene and helping local crews with their response.
A birddog plane is a smaller aircraft used to lead other aircraft when responding to a fire.
(Original story: June 5 @ 3:35 pm) - A small fire has broken out just north of the Kelowna International Airport near Mill Creek Regional Park.
The fire is listed as out of control by the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) and crews are at the scene, according to a social media post.

A plume of smoke from the blaze is visible and the fire is estimated to be about 90 square metres in size.
