The Kelowna Rockets have made their first post-Memorial Cup trade to kick off an off-season that will surely see a lot of roster transformation.
The Rockets have acquired the rights to 19-year-old defenceman Dane Sorensen from the Victoria Royals in exchange for a pair of conditional picks – a fifth in 2030 and a sixth in 2027.

Sorensen started last season with the USHL’s Sioux Falls Stampede, but ended up moving north to play for the Brooks Bandits where he won a BCHL championship.
He seemed to flourish after joining Brooks, posting nine points in 12 regular season games and another five in 13 post-season appearances.
The 6’1”, 183-pound blue liner is from Los Angeles, California, but holds dual citizenship between America and Canada.
