After not hearing his name called in his final year of eligibility at the NHL draft, Gabriel Szturc has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The contract runs through the 2026-27 season and comes after Szturc spent time with the Lightning at their training camp this past summer.
Szturc is currently in his third season with the Kelowna Rockets and holds the team record for most points by a European player (187).
The Czechia product has 27 goals and 67 points in 53 games this season.
Szturc was drafted 44th overall by the Rockets in the CHL Import Draft and has appeared in 176 career WHL games.
The 20-year-old has represented his home country on the international stage multiple times, most notably winning a silver medal at the 2023 World Junior Championship.
Szturc and the Rockets are back at Prospera Place next Wednesday as the Tri-City Americans come to town.
